First Day

The boys woke up super excited on their first day. They even took showers for me! I had to beg them for a decent picture, then we started walking. As I watched the first grader run two blocks ahead of me, I realized my daughter didn't have shoes on and my dog was following us without a leash. Obviously my boys had no anxiety about the first day of school! So I headed home with the shoeless child and leash less dog. The sixth grader had her first day on Tuesday. She is new to Oregon Connections Acadmy, which is an online charter school. The first two days were long, until we figured the computer and the program out. Now she is done with core school in a few hours and we continue learning about life! It is great having her home during the day.

Devil's Punch Bowl

We headed to the cool Oregon coast and enjoyed the marine life there in the Bowl and the tide pools. The kids found hermit crabs, petted starfish, and fed snails to the anemone. What great fun!

Shopping with kids

Lots of fun with the cutest kids ever!

Friends

We've been friends for ten years. We've had babies together, raised kids together, and ate at Izzy's together. It's great to have good friends.

Strong and Mighty Tri

Driving from the 1/4 mile swim to the Bike
On the bike ride (self portrait)
My strongest event, the bike!

3 mile run, amazing!
Waiting for my friends........
Kim and I at the end.  It was an amazing day all in all.  I trained for all of this but still had doubts about whether I could actually do it.  I beat my swimming time by 1 and 1/2 minutes.  I am not a swimmer so I used a kick board for 3 laps and faked it for the other 7.  But I DID it!  The bike was my favorite because I love biking.  I booked it and loved every minute of it.  11 miles was a cinch.  The run was the hardest but only because my calves burned like crazy for the first 15 minutes and I had just swam and biked.  I did not run the whole time, but ran more than I walked.  I was totally amazed that I ran for that long.  Our bodies are amazing.    Can't wait to do another one!
